Hotel Atlanta

Can someone recommend which area of Atlanta I should book a hotel in?

I am staying a few days in Atlanta and would like advice on which area of town will be near shopping centers like Target, Walmart and a Mall. I usually stay at Courtyard Marriot... they have several locations to choose from, so some general idea of a neighborhood would be a great help
