Hotels near Atlanta, GA, preferably within walking distance of....?
Hyatt Regency Atlanta, along with the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, the Hilton Atlanta, and the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel. That's where the Dragon*Con is being held this September, and all the hosting hotels are sold out along with a few of the overflow hotels. Does anyone have any advice as to where to get the lowest prices for hotel rooms?

- Here is a list of hotels around the Hyatt Regency -- all of them sorted based on distance (so the closest are listed first): http://www.resideo.com/us/georgia/atlanta/91719536.hotel?n=1 From there, you can check out each hotel, see if they have availability for the dates you are looking to stay. Hope that helps!
- If you want to walk Anywhere in Atlanta, You'll probably get raped, or maybe Mugged. Atlanta's crime is outrageous !
- Check out some of the hotels down by the Dome/World Congress Center. Not the cheapest, but I always like the Embassy Suites (which is across from the WCC), but they have great rooms and one of the best hot breakfast buffets you can find anywhere. Also, as a rule, downtown hotels in Atlanta have their lowest prices on the weekends. You can expect to pay higher prices at almost any hotel within a 5-6 block radius of the 'Con', and the Embassy Suites is far enough away that you can still get a good deal.
- There are a lot of hotels off of peachtree st in downtown, midtown, and buckhead. You can stay in midtown or buckhead and catch the marta train to downtown atlanta.
- According to the website the only overflow that is sold out is the Wyndham. http://www.dragoncon.org/location.php#Host_Hotels The Days Inn on Spring Street appears to be the closest overflow hotel. The Dragon*Con website has the code for D*C rates. ETA: I doubl chcked and the Westin is a little closer but it costs almost 2x as much.
- go to BookMe. You can compare prices on all the major travel sites from one location. It's the only way you can guarantee the best deals for the best hotels for your money online.
